Sometimes, your skin just needs a reset. After stress, weather changes, or over-exfoliation, it’s essential to restore and protect your skin barrier for a healthy glow.

Before you use harsh, barrier-stripping products, consider doing the opposite, give your largest organ the hydration it needs both topically and internally. Put down the dehydrating beverages, alcohol and caffeine.

Day in the life of a solo aesthetician ✨🖤

There is so much info on the internet about microneedling. ✨

Some of us aestheticians use circles, some of us use a patchwork method, some of us use vertical/horizontal strokes, some of us use a stamping method. Some of us use all of the above.

As long as you are using the correct needle depth for your client and their skin specifically, using a serum to allow glide, and applying proper pressure to the machine there will be no damage to the skin. Please don’t let the fear mongering media scare you. In a recent video I posted I applied upward strokes on my forehead, and no damage to my skin occurred.
This is because
✨The hydration balm+ serum was applied to give my skin glide.
✨The needle depth was set correctly for my thicker, built up layers of dead skin.
✨The pressure I applied wasn’t heavy handed.

You wouldn’t use the same needle depth on a client who has mature, fragile, thin “loose or saggy” skin versus a client who is younger and possibly has thicker skin with more elasticity or “tightness” to it.
Nor would you use the same depth for fragile/loose stretch marks as you would for pitted acne scaring.

Alternating between strokes, circles, and stamping will not tear or cause damage to your skin.

A fear of “dragging” is fully warranted when needle depth isn’t properly adjusted for one’s specific skin, or the specific area you are working on. A slight “pull” is not the same thing as dragging. However, with most microneedling devices the pen actually uses a vibration to allow the needles to be inserted and retracted from the skin, this vibration typically prevents most “dragging” vs a more stationary needle (dermarollers)

I see a purpose in all microneedling and micro-channeling methods 🫶🏻

The device you use is important but what really matters is the topicals and serums that are being applied, proper needle depth and hand pressure, to set your microneedling results apart from others.
P.S. please stop using at home microneedling stampers and dermarollers, or I’m going to show up at your house and throw it in the trash! Go see you aesthetician for microneedling please don’t do it at home 🫶🏻

No but seriously implementing stamping to my technique has been a game changer for my microneedling results. I only glide or do patch stokes if necessary, and stamp all scaring I can see. Also the new hydrating balm is much thicker than most serums and I have been loving how it microneedles into the skin 🫶🏻
